Solo,
un ultimo raggio di vita
gli occhi m’illumina.
Chi sei, tu, figura esitante
riflessa nel mare?
E ancor ti scrivo, Maestro,
per cercar conforto nella tua penna,
che tanti inni ha composto,
rendendoti impervio agli astanti e immortale ai venturi.
Il confronto tra noi è sempre stato ineguale,
dilaniando la mia mente incapace di tanta arte
e le mie dita, consumate da infeconde sere dietro al violino.
Perso nella smania di fama, ho bruciato tutta la vita,
come spartiti confusi nel brun focolare,
e ora, ancora, vago per calle in cerca d’una stella
che mi possa donare l’ultima idea.

Quindici anni di cupi silenzi senza mai esser amato,
quindici anni di tonfi taglienti guardando le stelle soltanto da un lato.
No!
Non posso più tollerare, Maestro, un’esistenza colma di rabbia e insuccessi,
condannato ad un limbo di eterna speranza cercando la via per una gloria perenne;
ma dove trovo la forza per alzarmi ancora una volta da questo viscido anfratto?
È mai vita questa?
Giorni passati contando gli inverni, grigi meriggi a distinguer l’orizzonte
cullato dal suono incessante del mare, triste distesa infinita di nulla fugace. Come me…
Da sempre un’unica grande ambizione, suonare per una platea
e non essere considerato un altro orchestrale fallito.
Le corde si spezzano aspre, la furia mi monta da dentro,
il patto ormai è siglato, la Bestia è dentro di me!

Aquilus took a decade off and came back like he never left! Bellum I is yet another piece of beautiful melodic black metal mixed with classical and folk that makes you wanna dance naked in a forest somewhere. The natural sounding production increases the atmosphere heavily. Griseus is a monumental black metal album for me but Bellum I isn't far behind. Can't wait for II!
